General Expectations
Respect the property, neighbours, and environment at all times.
Walking access to the beach is via the right-hand side of the property. Please do not cross neighbouring boundaries.No fires are permitted anywhere within the bach section.
This is a smoke-free property. If you smoke, please do so outside and dispose of cigarette butts responsibly.

Arrival & Departure
Check-in: No earlier than 12:00 PM
Check-out: By 11:00 AM sharp
Before leaving, please ensure:
All windows are closed, curtains drawn, lights turned off
Fridge remains ON and running
The bach is locked

Cleaning & Rubbish
To keep costs down, guests are responsible for cleaning the bach before departure.
Cleaning products (dishwashing liquid, laundry powder, toilet paper, etc.) are supplied. If you finish any items, leave the empty container in the cupboard for refilling, and please text the bach custodian to let them know.
Do not leave food or "helpful" items behind—take everything with you.
All rubbish must be removed from the property, including from outdoor bins and the car shed.
Transfer Station : 4148 Pōrangahau Rd, approx 3km from town.
Recycling Drop-off Centre : 41 Dundas St, next to White Domain

Linen & Laundry
Guests must bring their own bed linen, towels, bath mats, face clothes and tea towels. (Pillows and duvets are provided.)
A washing machine, outdoor clothesline and clothes drying rack are available for guests use.

Outdoor Area & Lawn
A barbecue is available, but do not use it on the deck. (Please bring your own gas bottle.)
Beach access is by foot. Please don’t ride motorcycles.
Social Club members: If the lawns need mowing, a mower and fuel are in the car shed—please mow them before you leave.

Pets & Keys
No pets or animals are permitted inside the bach.
Lost keys will incur a $200 fee, as this requires a full lock replacement.

Damage & Overstays
Guests are liable for the cost of any wilful or preventable damage to the bach or its contents.
If a guest overstays their allocated booking, the incoming guest will be accommodated elsewhere at the overstaying guest’s expense.
Incoming guests should check the condition of the bach immediately upon arrival and report any damage or issues.

Pricing
Non-member of Hastings Fire Brigade Social Club :
$150 per night
Financial member of the Hastings Fire Brigade Social Club :
$75 per night Winter (Mar 1st to 30th)
$100 per night Summer (Dec 1st to Feb 28th)

Payment & Cancellation Policy
A non-refundable deposit of $30 is required to secure your booking.
Bookings are not confirmed until the deposit is received.Full payment is due no later than 14 days (2 weeks) before your arrival date.
Cancellations (excluding the $30 deposit) are refundable as follows:
100% refund (minus deposit) with 21+ days’ notice
50% refund (minus deposit) with 14–20 days’ notice
No refund with 13 days or less notice
If you cancel within 13 days of your booking or fail to show, the full payment is retained.

Summer Booking Ballot System
To ensure a fair and efficient allocation of peak summer bookings, non-members will enter a ballot, while HFB Social Club Members will book on a first-in, first-served basis.
Summer Season December 1st – February 28th
Ballot June 1st - July 31st Ballot Draw & Notifications: August 1st
Remaining Availability Opens to All: August 2 (first-in, first-served)
HFB Social Club Members can book directly with no need to enter the ballot. Bookings will be accepted on a first-in, first-served basis. We recommend booking early to secure your preferred dates.
Non-Members may enter the Summer Ballot between June 1 and July 31.
Ballot allocations will be made by random draw, and successful applicants will be notified by August 1.
Any remaining availability will open for general booking from August 2, on a first-in, first-served basis.
Entering the ballot does not guarantee a booking.
We appreciate your understanding as we aim to deliver a fair, transparent, and efficient booking process for all.

HFB Sports and Social Club Bach – Guest Booking Terms
By booking and staying at the HFB Sports and Social Club Bach, you agree to the following terms and conditions.
1. Booking and Payment
A $30 non-refundable deposit is required to secure your booking. Your dates are not confirmed until this has been received.
Full payment is due 14 days prior to your arrival.
If full payment is not received by the due date, your booking may be cancelled and offered to others.
2. Cancellations and Refunds
The $30 deposit is non-refundable in all cases.
Cancellations made:
21 days or more before arrival: 100% refund (minus deposit)
14–20 days before arrival: 50% refund (minus deposit)
13 days or fewer before arrival: no refund
No refunds for early departures or no-shows.
3. Check-In / Check-Out
Check-in: From 12:00 PM
Check-out: By 11:00 AM
Late departures may result in extra charges or impact the next guest’s stay.
4. Occupancy and Use
The bach is for use by guests approved at the time of booking.
The maximum number of guests must not be exceeded.
Pets and animals are not permitted in the accommodation.
Guests must not light fires anywhere on the bach section.
The barbecue must not be used on the deck and requires you to bring your own gas bottle.
Please respect neighbouring properties and accessways.
5. Cleaning and Guest Responsibilities
Guests are required to clean the bach thoroughly before departure. A checklist is provided to guide this.
All rubbish, food, and personal items must be removed.
Please do not leave behind shells, driftwood, rocks, or firewood—return them to the beach or take them home.
Cleaning products are provided. If you finish anything, leave the empty container under the sink and notify the Bach Custodian.
6. Damage and Loss
Guests are liable for the cost of any damage or loss caused during their stay.
Lost keys will incur a $200 fee to cover full lock replacement.
All damage or breakages must be reported to the Bach Custodian immediately.
7. Failure to Vacate
Guests who fail to vacate the bach on time may be liable for the cost of alternative accommodation for incoming guests.
Incoming guests are encouraged to inspect the property on arrival and report any issues immediately.
8. Privacy and Courtesy
Please be respectful of other guests and neighbours at all times.

9. Summer Booking Ballot (December 1 – February 28)
All accommodation bookings for the Summer period are subject to high demand. To manage this fairly:
HFB Social Club Members may book from June 1 on a first-in, first-served basis and are not required to enter the ballot.
Non-members may apply through a ballot system, open from July 1 to July 31.
Ballot results will be drawn on August 1, and successful applicants will be contacted to confirm their booking.
Submitting a ballot entry does not guarantee a booking.
Any remaining availability after ballot allocations will be open for general booking from August 2 on a first-come, first-served basis.
10. Agreement
By confirming your booking and submitting payment, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to abide by these Terms & Conditions.
